STUDENT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
We are please to announce three graduate student awards that have been developed by CISLL. These represent important opportunities for students to receive acknowledgment and funding to support their research endeavors.
Ideally, these calls would have been sent out to affiliates a while back, because the deadlines are fast approaching. This could not be helped because we were waiting on notification of continued funding of the center. The attached Student Funding Announcement introduces each of the awards, and the requirements and application process are spelled out in the other three attachments.
In any event, please consider submitting a proposal or application for one or more of these awards.

OSP Resources & Links: CISLL heartily thanks Kellie Dyslin, Donna Martin, and David Stone from the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) for providing an informational and motivational hour on funding to our affiliates. We learned about the importance of positioning yourself as a scholar and researcher, how to make the most of existing data and relationships, and the value of interdisciplinary teamwork in strengthening your proposal.
As they emphasized, acquiring funding is more challenging than ever. Your Research Development Specialist (RDS) from the OSP can help you…
-search for funding.
-follow agencies’ nitty-gritty guidelines.
-review proposal drafts.
-prepare a reasonable budget aligned with the scope of your project.
-set up subcontracts.
-fill out internal university and external agency paperwork.
