Director of Social Media

We seek a director of social media to oversee and maximize NIU’s social media ecosystem in our efforts to engage, inform and grow our university community.

Under the leadership of the associate vice president for Institutional Communications/chief communications strategist, the director of social media oversees and maximizes NIU’s social media ecosystem in our efforts to engage, inform and grow our university community and is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication plans designed to increase awareness, engagement and action with internal and external stakeholders as they relate to advancing the university’s mission, vision, values and goals. The position will collaborate with colleagues and students across the university to develop timely, branded and inclusive content to support enrollment and public engagement goals.

The Division of Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications (EMMC) supports the university’s mission, vision and values by creating strategic, compelling and innovative communications that drive action and awareness.

EMMC has an extensive portfolio which includes Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Student Financial Advising Services, Orientation and First Year Programs, Marketing and Creative Services, CRM and Recruitment Communications, Institutional Communications, Web and Internal Communications.
