Working Remotely


If a public health crisis, weather emergency, natural disaster, or personal circumstance requires it, you may have to work from home for an extended period of time. In preparation, please determine what you would need to work remotely.

We have phone resources for using Microsoft Teams for audio and video call communication, information on managing call forwarding and voicemail, and other collaboration resources. You can also learn more about accessing your files and NIU's network from off campus. Our resources page provides details about professional development through LinkedIn Learning and support for Microsoft O365 applications.

Due to global work-from-home efforts to stem COVID-19, the number of phone and email phishing scams is increasing sharply. See details about known active phishing scams.

Browser Alert

The newest Firefox (version 74.0) released on March 10, 2020, is not supported on Cisco anyconnect VPN. Please use a different browser. Additionally, older versions of Firefox on MAC OS have an issue with the Firefox Certificate Store. See a workaround for the Firefox Certificate Store on MAC OS not being supported.
