The Walk Across America For Mother Earth

By Taylor Mac

October 11-13, 17-19, 2019

The Walk Across America for Mother Earth tells the story of a motley group of activists marching across the country to protest the nation’s many ills. Or to feel like a part of something. Or to get laid. Whatever their motives, the Walkers are on the move. In their efforts to forge a roadside utopia, they contend with blisters, capitalism, flatulence, sexual trauma, tornadoes, betrayal, and stinky armpits. Throughout it all, they explore questions of identity, righteousness, and how to make the world a better place. Written by MacArthur “Genius” and queer icon Taylor Mac, this play with music is as crass and irreverent as it is human and timely.
