Spend a week immersed in a subject of your choice. You’ll work on real-world projects, meet with experts in your chosen field and learn about the variety of careers available in each field. Choose one track per week.

Session One - June 16-21, 2019.

  • Engineering You’ll complete a series of hands-on engineering projects as you learn about the different careers available to engineers, meet with NIU Engineering faculty and tour our engineering and tech labs.

  • Health Sciences Learn how scientists are helping people live healthier lives as we meet with pharmacologists, biomedical engineers, epidemiologists and other health professionals, and perform hands-on experiments.

  • Physics Explore the career possibilities available in the expanding fields of physics and chemistry as you get a hands-on introduction to some of the exciting work physical scientists do every day.

  • Video Game Design with NIU's Digital Convergence Lab Try your hand at game design and learn about the various careers available as you use professional software like GameMaker, JavaScript and Minecraft to design.

Session Two, June 23-28, 2019.

  • Earth Science You’ll learn about the latest research on earthquakes, glaciers, climate change and meteorology and meet earth science professionals such as environmental geologists and meteorologists.

  • Engineering You’ll complete a series of hands-on engineering projects as you learn about the different careers available to engineers, meet with NIU Engineering faculty and tour our engineering and tech labs.
