Student Emergency Fund

The NIU Emergency Fund was established to provide assistance to NIU students who have been impacted by COVID-19 or whose circumstances have been exacerbated as a result of the pandemic. To date, over 3,900 students have received support through this fund. These funds are designed to help students continue their education; therefore, they are reserved for students who were enrolled in the spring semester and have continued enrollment in summer or fall courses. Emergency funds are limited. Students who have not already received assistance from this fund will be given priority consideration. Due to the large amount of applications we’ve received, we ask for your patience as we review funding decisions. Please note: If you turn your application in after July 15, you will receive a decision by Aug. 15.
