Since 2003, the Supportive Professional Staff (SPS) Council has given Certificates of Recognition to SPS employees. The certificates honor those who have achieved accomplishments in addition to their regular job duties. The council has awarded an average of 20-25 certificates per year.
Any SPS employee may be nominated for a Certificate of Recognition. Certificates have been given for such accomplishments as:
Publication of books or articles.
Presentations or papers delivered at professional conferences.
Leadership in professional associations.
Honors and recognitions received.
Advanced academic degrees or professional certifications earned.
Extraordinary service to the NIU community and its students.
You can nominate yourself or any SPS employee. Send an email with the nominee's name and a brief statement of their accomplishments to Laura Lundelius at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to indicate that your nomination is for a certificate of recognition.
The nomination deadline is Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at 4:30 p.m.
