Are you attending NIU on any scholarships? Which one(s)?
Yes, a Merit Scholarship.
What is your major, and why did you choose your field of study?
Accounting because I enjoyed it in high school, but I may change it to something else.
How did you learn about NIU, and why did you choose to attend?
My high school accounting teacher suggested it and I liked the campus a lot when I visited.
What has been your favorite event at NIU, and why?
NIU Welcome days is my favorite because it starts the year off great.
What do you like about our campus and community?
I love how the campus is big but it feels small and there’s a large group of people so anyone can find friends.
What has your experience inside the classroom been like at NIU?
There are classes with only a few people and classrooms with a lot of people, but both work well. Every class I’ve had, the professor always responded to emails and helped people and so did the teacher’s assistant.
What is something you have experienced at NIU that you will be able to take with you into future endeavors in your field?
I learned quickly how to manage my time between everything. This will help with the rest of my life.
Would you recommend NIU to others and why? What’s a general piece of advice you’d give to someone starting college?
Yes, I would and I already have. I think this school is great and there are a lot of clubs to do after classes. I would tell people to plan things out to manage your time.
