Why did you choose your field of study?
I chose kinesiology because I have a true passion for exercise, the body's capabilities and wanting to help people.

How did you learn about NIU, and why did you choose to attend?
I've learned about NIU since high school. I had a couple teachers that were associated with Northern. I chose to attend because my field of interest was offered and NIU is close to home.

Do you have any favorite activities or events at NIU?
I am a part of “EXS” or Exercise Science Club on campus. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow students in the kinesiology department.

What do you like about campus and the DeKalb area?
I love the outdoor space and fountains behind Davis Hall and the architecture of the older buildings on campus.

What is something you have experienced at NIU that you will be able to take with you into future endeavors in your field?
I have been given the opportunity to travel out to Colorado Springs with the kinesiology department to visit the Olympic Training Center, along with a couple other locations. I do believe that my experiences at these locations will stick with me throughout my future career.

What is up next for you after your time at NIU? Any plans you would like to share?
After NIU, I hope to work as a physical therapist.

What’s a general piece of advice you’d give to someone starting college?
It's okay if you don't know what you want to do with your life right away. I promise you will figure it out. It may be scary at first but everything will fall into place. I am a perfect example.
