Why did you choose your field of study?
Being a first-generation college student is the real reason I decided on going to law school. … Both my parents have worked really hard to give all three of their sons a better life, and I decided to attend college and law school to make them proud.
Do you have any favorite activities or events at NIU? What else do you do for fun in your spare time?
I really like playing intramural volleyball with my fellow law students. In my spare time I like to collect vinyl records and play volleyball at the rec center.
What has your experience inside the classroom been like at NIU?
The classes aren't super big, so it is really easy to pay attention and ask questions. The professors at NIU's Law School really care about you and your success!
What is something you have experienced at NIU that you will be able to take with you into future endeavors in your field?
At NIU law they really want to prepare you for the workforce after you graduate! They offer classes like Lawyering Skills and constantly have opportunities for networking.
What is up next for you after your time at NIU? Any plans you would like to share?
I will taking the Bar Exam and then hopefully working at a personal injury law firm.
What’s a general piece of advice you’d give to someone starting college?
A piece of advice I would give someone starting out college would be to organize your time so that you can balance schoolwork and having fun.
