WCC – NIU STEAM Summer Camp Internship

NIU is partnering with Waubonsee Community College to ignite students’ interest in through early teaching experiences. Each summer, five Waubonse Community College students will receive paid internships to serve as NIU STEAM Camp Instructors. 

WCC-NIU STEAM Interns Will

  • Receive one week of training on teaching methods and the STEAM Camp curricula from NIU Secondary Science Educator Licensure Faculty.
  • Participate in one week of pre-camp training from the NIU STEAM Camp staff.
  • Serve as instructors for a middle-school science camp.
  • Receive additional salary as interns in addition to their NIU STEAM Camp salary.
  • Receive one internship credit as a WCC student. 

Eligibility

  • Students are currently enrolled at Waubonsee Community College and pursuing an Associate of Science degree.
  • Graduating Seniors who live in the Waubonsee Community College district or who will graduate from in-district high school.
