Visitors are welcome on campus, but we ask that you take the same precautions we ask our students, faculty and staff to protect yourself and others.

Visitors include family members, friends, community members, event attendees and vendors.

  • For prospective students and their families, the best and most convenient way to visit campus is virtually.
  • If you are not feeling well, please do not come to campus.
  • Masks must be worn.
  • Practice physical distancing.
  • Visitors are not permitted in NIU residence halls (or the Northern View Apartments)
    • Visitors with masks are able to wait in the lobby area for the student to meet them.
    • NIU students visiting residence halls other than their own must also wait in the lobby to meet friends in that residence hall.
    • Friends who live in different buildings may visit outside of buildings.
  • Visitors to campus may access Dining Services when those are in operation.

Huskies care about each other, and we care about doing our part to limit the spread of COVID-19. We are following official guidance on COVID-19 and acting in compliance with health and safety laws.
