Form to Submit Concerns Related to COVID-19
Sept. 2, 2020
As we continue to update the Protecting the Pack website with the latest guidance and information, I want to call attention to a new resource available for sharing concerns related to COVID-19.
Today, we are launching a new reporting feature where Huskies or members of the public can inform the university of potential violations regarding the guidelines and expectations outlined in Protecting the Pack. This could include behaviors or activities that don’t support the health and well-being of our community, such as: individuals who refuse to wear a mask or maintain physical distance; off-campus parties and gatherings that do not follow public health guidelines; or failure to quarantine or isolate when instructed. We’ve also included a section to make the university aware of concerns related to facilities.
Our hope is that when Huskies see examples of these instances, that we can hold one another accountable with friendly reminders or conversations about the university’s expectations. When that’s not possible, using the form provides the most effective way to ensure these issues can be addressed appropriately by the right people.
Form submissions will be reviewed and addressed within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. As always, if there is immediate risk to life or property, please call 911 or NIU Campus Police at 815-753-1212. Confidentiality requirements prevent the university from providing complainants with details of actions taken in cases involving students and employees.
Thank you for your efforts in helping to protect the health and well-being of our entire community. Every Huskie can make a positive difference in helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
