Employee Surveillance Testing for Fall Semester – Important Next Steps for Your Participation

As previously announced, beginning Aug. 16, 2021, all employees who work on NIU’s DeKalb campus will be required to participate weekly in COVID-19 surveillance testing on campus. More information on surveillance testing hours and locations for fall and how to schedule your appointments will be distributed the week of Aug. 2.

Employees can be exempted from the testing requirement if they have been fully vaccinated or if their supervisors and division leaders verify that those employees are working entirely remotely for the fall semester. If you meet this criteria, please complete the exemption form by 11:59 p.m. CST Thursday, Aug. 12.

If you have already submitted your vaccine information to CampusClear, there is no need to resubmit that information.

If you are a supervisor of an employee who is working in a completely remote capacity for the fall semester, you will be asked to verify that information within three business days when it is submitted by the employee through the request form. Division vice presidents will receive weekly summaries of exemption requests from remote employees for approval beginning Friday, July 23.

More information about surveillance testing is available on the Protecting the Pack website.
