Temporary Construction Permits
Contractors who are conducting business on NIU property must purchase Temporary Construction Permits in order to use the campus parking facilities.
Use of any campus parking facilities for construction-related activity must be approved in advance by the Coordinator of Campus Parking Services. Designated areas will be assigned based on the time of year, project size, and location.
Temporary Construction Permits may be issued for certain lots that are close to the construction work being performed. Some parking areas assigned may be remote. Individual consideration will be given depending on the construction details.
Temporary Contractors Permits may be purchased at the Campus Parking Services office, Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m..
A registration form must be filled out each time a permit is purchased.
The cost is as follows: $5 a day, $10 a week, $25 a month or $135 for an annual Temporary Construction Permit. We accept: cash, checks, American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.
Vendors who fail to make proper arrangements for the use of the University parking facilities on campus will be subject to current parking enforcement regulations.
