Lifelong Learning Institute - Using Zoom

This winter NIU’s Lifelong Learning Institute will continue using Zoom to provide online courses, so you can keep learning and still see and chat with one another from your own home. Zoom works with a smart phone, tablet or laptop, and it will work on a desktop computer if you have a microphone and an external camera. Flip and push-button phones can provide audio for Zoom, but no video.

When you register for one of our courses, you’ll be given a Zoom meeting ID and password to get into a session along with a link to meet on your computer and a phone number if you chose to call in to the class.

If you want to learn more about how Zoom works, watch this short YouTube video. If you have questions about the class format, contact us at p20network@niu.edu.

Winter LLI courses will feature interesting topics with presentations, videos, graphs, music and comments too. During class, you can chat with all participants or privately, electronically raise your hand, choose a background for your image and have a good time learning with others.
