Starting college is an exciting time for students, but also for families. Orientation and First Year Programs staff is here to help not only students, but also families as everyone transitions to life as a new Huskie. Parents and families are invited to come to Family Orientation to learn more information about academics, student life, and ways to support your student.
Family orientation runs concurrently with the student orientation program. Students and families will have opportunities to attend sessions together and separately.
By attending family orientation you will:
Learn about the academic expectations and the resources available to support your student
Meet with units and have an opportunity to ask questions from key support resources including Financial Aid and Housing and Residential Services
Understand common transitional issues of first year students and how to best support your student
Send an important message to your student that you’re supportive in their education and want to be involved in the experience
