Donny Osmond

His name conjures up different meanings to different people, but for Osmond fans growing up during the seventies, the name Donny Osmond represents singing superstar, heart throb and devoted family man.

Throughout the seventies, Donny and his brothers dominated the music charts selling millions of albums and singles. Their popularity grew to enormous heights not only in the United States but all across the world.

By the time he was 13, Donny was a success in his own right. Through his teenage years, he earned 23 gold records, eight of which went gold in one year.

By the time he reached his 17th birthday, Donny and his sister Marie made television history by becoming the youngest hosts ever of a one-hour variety program. The Donny and Marie Show lasted four seasons on ABC (1976-1979).

It was during the running of this TV show that Donny married his sweetheart Debra Glenn on May 8, 1978. Although many critics said the marriage would affect his popularity, Donny proved them all wrong. His true fans accepted Debra with open arms. Between the two of them, four beautiful children have been made since that sunny day in May: Donald Clark Jr., Jeremy James, Brandon Michael and Christopher Glenn. They are expecting their fifth child sometime in early 1998.

In 1991, Donny accepted the title role in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Since that first performance, he has thrilled audiences young and old alike all across the United States and Canada. He has since handed the role over to another talented actor.

What continues to attract people to Donny, and always will, is his sincere love for his family, friends and fans. What you see is what you get with Donny. I know I will always be a loyal Osmond fan.
