Tom Garling

Applied Artist

Tom Garling

Tom Garling is one of the most exciting jazz trombonists anywhere. Starting in 1986, at the age of twenty, he toured internationally with Buddy Rich’s Big Band, and later toured with Maynard Ferguson’s band from 1992-1998, where he eventually became the Music Director.  Recently, he has been touring internationally with Frank Sinatra Jr. and maintains a busy performing schedule at premier jazz clubs and large venues in Chicago and around the world.

His cutting edge playing and writing can be heard on numerous albums by Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, and more recently the Chicago Jazz Ensemble and the Chicago Yestet, to name a few. He has been in high demand for over 25 years as a performer, composer, arranger, director, recording artist, teacher and clinician.
