Apply for undergraduate research programs this summer

Interested in getting paid experience that will prepare you for your future career? Then apply for one of the many undergraduate research programs provided by the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning (OSEEL) this summer!

During the summer semester, undergraduates have an opportunity to apply for Student Engagement Funds (SEF) to support student engagement projects. Applications for summer SEF are currently available until Wednesday, Feb. 28. Interested in just traveling? Consider applying to the Undergraduate Student Engagement Travel (USET) Grant. Applications for USET are due on the 15th of each month.

The Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) allows you to engage in full-time faculty-mentored research (40-plus hours/week) for an eight-week period during the summer semester. Weekly workshops, meetings and educational trips allow you to learn what research looks like in your field of study while gaining experience writing and presenting formal research. Selected participants receive housing, meals and a stipend during the duration of the program. Applications for SROP are available and have a deadline of Sunday, March 11.

For more information on undergraduate research or any of the above-mentioned programs, contact an OSEEL staff member at or 815-753-8154.
