What is the Women's Empowerment Conference?
The Women's Empowerment Conference is an annual event hosted by the Latino Resource Center and women-centered student organizations such as De Mujer a Mujer. The conference focuses on:
- Providing women of color with the personal and professional development needed to succeed in college
- Cultivating the leadership skills that will prepare them for the working world
- Educating them about the importance of maintaining their cultural heritage and well-being.
This conference focuses on providing social support, academic guidance and leadership opportunities that foster self-confidence, self-awareness, self-esteem and increase the retention and graduation rates of women of color at the high school and college level.
Although this conference is designed to promote services specific to the needs of women of color, all college and high school women are welcome to attend the conference.
