  • Residents must remain in good standing
  • Residents must attend a set number of events

How to Sign Up

Log into Campus Housing Sign Up and follow the instructions for selecting a new room and meal plan. If you meet the above requirements, you will be able to select a room in the TEACH House. Note that depending on the time of the year, room selection may be unavailable to you. Learn more about the room selection timeline.

Welcome to TEACH House – Northern Illinois University’s Living-Learning Community for future teachers.  Located in Stevenson Towers South, this residence hall living option is open to students pursuing a degree in any area of Educator Licensure.  TEACH House will assist you in understanding how courses connect to your teaching major and will facilitate opportunities to interact with faculty from Educator Licensure programs, as well as peers with similar professional aspirations.  Students who live in this house are required to attend a set number of professional development programs in order to be eligible for the end-of-the-year trip.

TEACH House activities include:

  • "Physical Activity in Every Classroom"
  • "Parent-Teacher Conference"
  • "Field Trip(s): How to Plan/organize Field Trips"

House Highlights

  • Access to academic and social programming events
  • Develop leadership skills through participation
  • Interact with professionals in the field of education
  • Opportunities to volunteer at local elementary, middle and high schools
