Professor Kuehl Presents at National AALS Conference

Professor Heidi Kuehl presented in a discussion group at the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Annual Meeting in San Francisco on January 4th, 2017. The title for the discussion was "Student Assessment: Tips and Tricks from the Trenches." Professor Kuehl joined 13 legal educators from all around the country as part of the panel.

According to the official program for the event, "This discussion group will cover how assessment is handled at several institutions and by several types of professors. The group will also discuss who needs to perform assessments, types of assessment, tools for assessment, the value of student-to-student assessment, graded and ungraded assessment, assessment in the traditional classroom, assessment in the virtual classroom, opportunities and challenges of meaningful assessment, what to do with the assessment, and how the library can help faculty with assessment."

Professor Kuehl Publishes Article on International Law

Professor Heidi Kuehl recently published an article in the International Journal of Legal Information, a Cambridge University Press journal. The article is entitled "Resources for Becoming Culturally Competent in a Multijurisdictional Practice: G20 Nations and Associated Legal Traditions," and appears in the July 2016 edition of the journal.

Professor Kuehl Presents at MAALL Conference

Professor Heidi Kuehl presented at the MAALL (Mid-America Association of Law Libraries) Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO on October 23, 2015. The title of her program was "Leading and Directing Law Libraries."

Law Library Faculty Publish Articles in MAALL Markings

Professor Heidi Kuehl and Professor Clanitra Stewart Nejdl published articles in the September 2015 edition of MAALL Markings, the official newsletter of the Mid-American Association of Law Libraries. Professor Kuehl's article is entitled "Inside the Dag Hammarskjöld Library" and Professor Stewart Nejdl's article is entitled "First Year Teaching: How I Got Here from There."

Professor Heidi Kuehl's New Position as Director of Law Library Makes Newsletters

Professor Heidi Kuehl appeared in the November 2014 e-newsletter for the American Association of Law Libraries as well as the Winter 2014 CALL Bulletin, the newsletter for the Chicago Association of Law Libraries. These are part of a series of media acknowledgments for Professor Kuehl's appointment as NIU Law Library Director.

The American Association of Law Libraries was founded in 1906 to promote and enhance the value of law libraries to the legal and public communities, to foster the profession of law librarianship, and to provide leadership in the field of legal information. Today, with nearly 5,000 members, the Association represents law librarians and related professionals who are affiliated with a wide range of institutions: law firms; law schools; corporate legal departments; courts; and local, state and federal government agencies.

Professor Kuehl's appointment to the position of NIU Law Library director appeared in the "In the News" section, detailing her previous experience before coming to the College of Law and her areas of expertise.
