Matt Pfeiffer is the founder of Pfeiffer Law Offices, P.C., which handles a broad range of civil litigation, arbitration, and mediation matters for individuals and small- to medium-size business entities in DuPage, Cook, Kane, Will, Lake, McHenry, and Kendall Counties as well as various transactional matters throughout those regions. He received his B.S. from Purdue University.

Mr. Pfeiffer focuses his litigation practice on commercial disputes; business torts; equitable claims, including proceedings for injunctive relief; construction law, including mechanics liens; employment disputes for both employers and employees; creditors’ rights, including commercial and personal loan enforcement, corporate and personal bankruptcies, non-bankruptcy workouts, and reorganizations; contested estates and probate matters; real estate-related issues; and appellate advocacy.  In addition to litigation matters, he also represents several individuals and businesses in a variety of transactional matters including business entity formation, operation, governance, and dissolution; mergers and acquisitions of businesses for buyers and sellers; contract preparation and negotiation; commercial and residential real estate dealings; and estate and trust planning and administration. 

As an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Matt has served on ISBA’s Civil Practice and Procedure Section Council for the past several years; was the moderator of a panel addressing electronic evidence issues at the prestigious invitation-only Allerton Conference (2011); has been a member of the Business and Securities Law Section Council for multiple years; and continues to serve as a member of the ISBA Assembly, the supreme policy-making body of this organization, on behalf of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit.

Matt also has maintained several positions of leadership within the DuPage County Bar Association. He is a past Chair of its Professional Responsibility Committee, Business Law Committee, and Law Practice Management Committee. As a prior member of its Planning Committee, Matt worked  alongside some of the most prominent attorneys and judges in DuPage County toward the development of a strategic long-term business plan for the DCBA.  Most recently, Matt was elected as a member of DCBA’s Board of Directors.  He also is a past recipient of the Board of Directors Award from the DuPage County Bar Association for outstanding service to this organization.

In addition to his commitments to the aforementioned professional organizations, Matt has served as President of the Alumni Council and as a member of the Board of Visitors for Northern Illinois University College of Law.  He is very proud to stay connected to the College of Law by serving as a mentor each year as part of its student mentoring program. 

Within the past several years, Matt has been invited to and participated in the Illinois State Bar Association’s bi-annual Allerton Conference, an annual symposium for lawyers and judges that addresses emerging legal issues in Illinois.  Frequently, Matt speaks as a lecturer at continuing legal education seminars for multiple professional organizations throughout the State of Illinois regarding a variety of civil litigation topics.  Matt is rated “AV® Preeminent™” by Martindale-Hubbell, a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.

When his schedule permits it, Matt stays actively involved in a number of personal matters within his work and home communities.  He serves on the Board of Directors for Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry in Naperville, a not-for-profit corporation organized for the purpose and mission of providing food and other essentials to end hunger in the communities within DuPage County and to provide its clients with resources to empower them to be self-sufficient.  Matt also serves as an assistant coach for Glen Ellyn Park District’s youth basketball program.
