Chad is the founder of JobsPLUS at NIU. As the director, he works with cross-divisional and interdisciplinary academic, employer, and extracurricular partners to enhance the student experience at NIU.
He began his current appointment with over a decade of experience in higher education, having worked in a number of roles in Human Resource Services at NIU that included leading the university’s Student Employment Office and Office of Graduate Assistantship Employment as well as serving as the director of Internship Design and Development. Chad has served on a number of campus-wide committees and is a past recipient of the University Friends award for his contribution and commitment to diverse student learning styles and the Supportive Professional Staff Award for Advocacy. He also served on the university’s Administrative Task Force for Program Prioritization. In 2013-14, Chad was recognized multiple times as part of NIU’s Bold Futures Workshops for innovative proposals on supervising student employees, college affordability, and enhancing the employment experiences of students. Off campus, Chad serves on the Board of Directors of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce and is a founding board member of Opportunity DeKalb, a nonprofit community development corporation focused on local revitalization efforts.
An alumnus of NIU, Chad first came to DeKalb as a first-generation college student. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in public law. He credits NIU faculty for the transformational experience he had as a student. Chad is a native of Dalzell, Illinois and currently lives in DeKalb.
