"A Healthy Dose of Reality"

  • Wednesday, February 21st, HSC Glidden Room: 12-1:00 p.m.

In recognition of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, NEDAW, join Rachel Narofsky, Nutrition & Dietetics graduate student to learn about the different types of eating disorders, how to recognize the signs of eating disorders, and a discussion on what we all can do to help those we know with eating disorders.

"Deciding to Retire from NIU"

There are still things you will need to do on campus after you have your SURS retirement appointment. This presentation will focus on and teach you the step-by-step NIU processes that will help you retire successfully. Presented by Liz Guess, Human Resource Services Benefits.

"How to Develop a Healthy Relationship with Food"

Learn how to honor your hunger and make peace with food. This presentation will help you view food in a new way and understand the importance of mindful eating. Presented by Amanda Bakko, Nutrition & Dietetics GA.

Did you know there is a new food label!? Join Sarah Lackowski, Nutrition & Dietetics GA to learn about the changes to the label, why the changes were made, and what they mean to you. Bring in a few food labels from home for an interactive discussion!

"Eating on the Go"

Do you have a busy schedule? Are you having the dilemma of wanting to eat healthy but are pressed for time? Come learn about the importance of eating meals and take away easy tips to eat healthy while on the go! Presented by Libby Moser, TA in Health Studies.

"Life Is Better When You Laugh"

  • Wednesday, May 16th, HSC 7th Floor: 12-1:00 p.m.

During this brown bag luncheon we will talk about the physical, psychological and relationship needs and benefits of laughter. We will also discuss different types of humor the circumstances where it is often most present and necessary. Registration is required as there will be limited seating. Presented by Brian Smith, Employee Assistance Program & Training Center
