Victoria Pho

Oboe, Piano - Apprentice 1

Victoria Pho is an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree at Northern Illinois University, where she studies oboe with J. Ricardo Castañeda.  She is a member of the NIU Wind Symphony and has subbed for the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Dekalb Municipal Band. 

Victoria has been involved in music most of her life, playing the piano for sixteen years and the oboe for six years.  Aside from taking private lessons, she has participated in the Granquist Music Competition for piano and performed at American Grands annually for five years.  She was also involved in the Achievement in Music (AIM) Program, a comprehensive theory and performance curriculum comprised of 14 levels of achievement for piano students, which is sponsored by the Illinois State Music Teachers Association.  In addition, she has participated annually in Solo and Ensemble Festivals, obtaining district and state Class A Gold Medals for both oboe and piano. 

Victoria enjoys working with children and has taught private oboe lessons at Marmion Academy.  She looks forward to working with the CSA to continue teaching lessons and instilling her love of music to other students.
