Esther Langer

Viola, Violin - Apprentice 1

Esther Langer is currently an undergraduate music performance major at NIU, where she studies viola with Anthony Devroye. She is a member of the NIU Philharmonic as well as the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra. She is also involved in chamber music.

Esther grew up in Southern California where she studied viola and violin in a Suzuki strings program at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music with Rachel Fabulich. She also studied chamber music at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, as well as the Colburn School of Music, and various summer music institutes. One such institute was Idyllwild Performing Arts Camp where she had the opportunity to perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
In addition, Esther was involved in various orchestras, including the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra; the Marshall Fundamental Chamber Orchestra, of which she was the concertmaster; and the Verdugo Young Musicians Association, where she was a member of the Chamber Orchestra as well as a mentor for the Youth Orchestra.

Esther loves sharing her passion for music through teaching. She taught private lessons throughout high school, and most recently she taught over the summer at Cazadero Performing Arts Camp in Northern California. Esther is very excited to be teaching at the CSA, and she hopes to inspire her students as she was inspired by her music teachers!
