String Day is designed to hone the musical skills of developing string players by providing a day of musical enrichment for students. The event features a short performance by each high school group on the Concert Hall stage. This is followed by an on-stage workshop led by NIU Orchestra Director Dr. Danko Drusko, Music Education (Strings) faculty Dr. Christine D'Alexander, and members of the NIU string and music education faculty. The day includes master classes with NIU string faculty Blaise Magniere, Marie Wang, Mathias Tacke, Anthony Devroye, Cheng-Hou Lee, and John Floeter, as well as a performance by the Avalon String Quartet.
