About
Designed for all brass players, the High School Brass Seminar is a four-day intensive workshop of masterclasses, rehearsals, lectures and performances. Directed by Tom Bough, the High School Brass Seminar includes many of the clinics and concerts from the Pokorny Low Brass Seminar plus special workshops, ensembles for each brass instrument and large brass ensembles.
Activities
Explore the amazing field of brass with world-class NIU brass faculty this summer! You'll learn while enjoying the following activities:
- Performing in like-instrument ensembles and large brass ensembles.
- Participating in masterclasses, group warmup and clinics.
- Attending faculty recitals.
- Lectures and performances from the faculty of the Pokorny Low Brass Seminar.
You can be a residential camper and stay in Gilbert Hall during the week.
Your experience will end with a special performance open to your family and friends.
We'll send you a packet of camp information in early June.
Registration
Registration fee: $575
You'll pay a $100 deposit when you register (unless applying for a summer camp scholarship).

First, take your luggage to Gilbert Hall. Next, go to the nearby Music Building to pick up camp materials. Free parking is available in front of Gilbert Hall and in the lot south of the Music Building.

Daily activities include group warm-ups, masterclasses for each instrument, like-instrument brass choir, large brass ensemble, lectures and recitals.
