Performathon Fundraiser

Event Cancelation

Due to the continued spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Performathon 2020 has been canceled.

We understand this is a difficult time for everyone. For those who are able and would like to support the CSA, we are keeping our donation page active with a new designation to help support the CSA generally. Learn more about how your donation can help.

Performathon is a fundraising event that raises money for Community School of the Arts scholarships. These scholarships enable families to give their children the benefits of arts education. Since 1993, Performathon has made it possible for us to give scholarships to more than 1,000 deserving students.

Performathon is a day of fun for the whole family. It includes music performances from CSA students and teachers, an art exhibit, a raffle, a music swap, a bake sale and more. The music performances start at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Students

If you're a music student, sign up now! You can perform at the event and get sponsorships from friends and family. We'll send you a sponsorship packet to help you get sponsors for your performance.

Parents and Families

  • Encourage your kids to perform and gather sponsorships.
  • Volunteer at the bake sale, music swap or other event. If you'd like to volunteer, contact the office and we'll get in touch.
  • Donate funds directly through our online giving portal.
  • Donate to the music swap. The famous Performathon music swap can always use more sheet music, records, CDs, tapes, instruments and other music-related items.

Teachers

  • We see our students perform every semester at our recital, but we rarely get to see our wonderful teachers play. This year we'd love to get our teachers up on the Performathon stage. If interested, sign up today.
  • Encourage your students to perform and gather sponsorships.
  • Donate funds directly through our online giving portal.
  • Donate to the music swap. We can always use more sheet music, records, CDs, tapes and other musical items.

Business Owners

  • Buy an ad in the Performathon program. These ads are perfect for promoting your business to the local community and showing your support for the arts. Contact Kristin at ksherman2@niu.edu for more information.
  • Donate a raffle prize. We're looking to create a great raffle full of products and services from the amazing business owners in our community. If interested, contact Kristin at ksherman2@niu.edu.
