Announcing the Esports Collegiate Conference

NIU is proud to be a founding member of the Esports Collegiate Conference (ESC), an independent esports conference. ESC competitions begin in the 2020-21 school year, where teams play in League of Legends. Overwatch and Rocket League. Read the June 10, 2020 press release announcing the conference.

2020-21 Season

Congratulations to our 2020-21 varsity players! Check out our Rocket League, League of Legends and Overwatch team rosters!

Rocket League is our fall competition title for 2020. Players will practice and compete throughout the fall semester.

League of Legends and Overwatch teams will be practicing and participating in exhibition games in preparation for the spring 2020 tournament season.

Practice and Play at the NIU Esports Arena

Our varsity teams practice and compete in the NIU Esports Arena located on our DeKalb Campus in the Neptune North Residence Hall. Our program consists of regularly scheduled evening and weekend practices with an esports coach. Games are shoutcasted by Conner Vagle and broadcast on the NIU Esports Twitch channel
