Experiential learning group travel is a funding opportunity to support faculty coordinated engaged learning experiences for a group of undergraduate students off campus. These experiences are active learning opportunities such as competitions or simulations. Applications for experiential learning group travel are accepted during the Student Engagement Fund application periods.
Eligible Expenses
Faculty can apply up to $2,500 for financial support for the following:
Registration fees
Transportation
Lodging
Meal allowance
Eligibility and Requirements
Faculty must accompany students during the event/experience
Faculty are eligible for one Experiential Learning Group Travel award per year
Submission of an itemized budget
Submit a list of student names participating in group travel
If awarded, complete the NIU Group travel authorization form
Submit a travel voucher and original receipts to accounts payable within two weeks of travel
All students participating complete the Experiential Learning Group Travel Survey
