| Week of August 24, 2020 Contents: | | NIU Well-Being Tip: Transitioning to the Fall Semester by Counseling and Consultation Services, Employee Assistance Program and RecWell.
Over the past five months our team has provided weekly well-being tips in response to COVID-19. Similar to the Protect the Pack Pledge, we focused on ways to take care of ourselves and others as we adjusted and adapted to the pandemic and its impact on our lives. The tips also focused on the importance of our physical, relational and emotional/mental health as we strive for work-life balance. We hope these messages were helpful, especially as you implemented strategies, routines and coping skills to prioritize and maintain well-being in your daily lives—not just during a pandemic, but all the time.
•As we start the fall semester you are encouraged to continue to be intentional about your well-being and wellness. •If you have been taking consistent steps to attend to these areas, keep up the good work! •If you are taking initial steps or have been thinking about getting started, remember that even small steps can help you feel better. •There is no better time than right now to focus on your well-being and self-care! The NIU well-being tips will continue for the fall semester but they will be provided every other week starting in September. The tips will also include additional dimensions of wellness as we continue to emphasize a holistic approach and specific ways you can attend to your well-being every day. We wish you all a healthy and safe start to fall semester. Be well Huskies! |
