Using Huskies Get Hired for student employment
Departments across campus looking to hire student workers for the upcoming fall semester will have an opportunity to participate in an online job fair, 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 27.

Departments wishing to participate will soon be able to visit the Huskies Get Hired online job platform to register for the event and post jobs. Participating departments will need a Huskies Get Hired account, which takes about 10 minutes to create. The Career Services Website offers detailed instructions on how to post a job to the platform.

Employers can provide job descriptions, pay ranges, parameters for applicants (majors, GPA, etc.) and other information to help potential job seekers zero in on the best opportunities.

On the evening of the event, students will select the jobs they are interested in and departments will have the opportunity to speak with candidates and provide more information. While offers can be extended, actual hiring must be conducted through Human Resource Services. For more information contact Career Services.

Art Museum’s annual Art to Lend exhibit is open
It’s time once again for the NIU Art Museum’s annual Art to Lend exhibition in which artwork from our collection is made available for display in secure campus offices.

In the past, there was a physical exhibition of available artwork in Altgeld Hall. This year, the choices can be viewed online at the Museum’s Flickr page. This Flickr page will be available only between July 2 and Aug. 4, 2021. Choices can be made at any point during this time frame. Selection forms can be filled out electronically and emailed to Assistant Director Peter Olson.

As in previous years, artworks will be assigned by lottery based on your preferred selections. The lottery drawing will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4.

There are nominal fees for this service to cover part of the Art Museum’s incurred costs for the care and maintenance of the collection, including matting and framing to make new selections available. These fees are detailed in our NIU Art Museum Art to Lend Policy.

If you have any questions, please email Peter Olson at polson@niu.edu. Thank you and happy browsing.
