Applaud a Colleague

Applaud a colleague is a show of appreciation for those co-workers who go above and beyond. These are just a few of the employees throughout the university that go the extra mile:

Notices

CODE Facilitator Training Institute scheduled for Aug. 11-12
Social Justice Education is pleased to announce that the Conversations on Diversity and Equity (CODE) Facilitator Training Institute will be held in-person this summer once again! After a year of virtual adaptations, you can safely join other prospective facilitators in a live, two-day intensive learning community on August 11 and 12, 2021 and be trained to join the CODE Facilitator team!

The CODE Facilitators are NIU faculty, staff and graduate students who have been trained to conduct CODE workshops for our community. They provide supportive learning environments where participants can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their interactions with others and acquire skills to prepare them to live and work in an increasingly diverse society. Facilitators have access to an active cross-campus network of fellow facilitators, monthly professional development sessions for continued growth and learning, and the knowledge that they are making a difference.

CODE workshops are designed to engage students, faculty and staff in learning about the cultural differences that shape our world. The ultimate outcome of providing these experiences for participants is to actively foster an inclusive campus community where everyone truly belongs.

Interested in taking action for your NIU community? Register for the institute!
