Resources for Teaching Remotely

Teaching Tip of the Week
Now more than ever, it is to grow and develop as online educators. We need to share with and learn from one another to build a community that values excellence in online teaching as we explore new strategies and tools.

The Online Teaching Symposium, scheduled for May 24-26, is designed for creating these opportunities. It is not another workshop or presentation. The Symposium is a multi-day celebration of our outstanding faculty and instructors, an opportunity to connect with your colleagues in new ways, and a dynamic learning experience you build to meet your personal learning needs.

What advice would you give to students currently attending NIU?
“Never give up on yourself and seek academic help when necessary because it is free and available to those in need (seeking academic support is not a form of punishment, rather it is iron sharpening iron, because we all are scholars). I would also advise them to create a strong network that consists of a few or many (your network creates your net worth) and to have fun learning.”

Kimberly Johnson-Jones

Assistant director, Huskie Academic Support Center, Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program

Efficiency efforts aim to free up time for more important tasks
