We have a growing number of gardens on campus. Some use more traditional gardening methods, while others — like our self-contained Hydropod unit — use innovative technologies to optimize crop production.
We welcome you to visit and enjoy the gardens’ natural beauty. If you want to get more involved, check out our volunteer opportunities.
The raised beds located on the west side of the building grow a variety of produce and beneficial flowers.
You may pick ripe fruits and vegetables from these gardens.
Please do not pick flowers.
The raised beds in this garden are used by students studying sustainable food systems in ENVS 210.
Our aeroponics garden is located in 71 North in the lower level of Founders Memorial Library, next to Einstein Bros. Bagels. These garden towers, donated by Innovative Growers Equipment, grow plants in air/mist instead of soil. Stop by and watch the lettuces and herbs grow.
This large garden behind Anderson Hall can produce a high volume of food. It features traditional 30-inch beds and a caterpillar tunnel, as well as perennial beds for strawberries, raspberries, asparagus and more. A true “market garden,” it showcases the small-scale production of fruits, vegetables and flowers for external customers/consumers.
The produce grown here is purchased by Campus Dining Services, donated to the Huskie Food Pantry or used in the student meal prep program.
