Academic Assistance

One of the goals of the Office of Academic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is to provide opportunities to students who may need a little help in navigating the college experience through to graduation. One such program that is available is ACCESS. ACCESS targets students who are academically at risk and provides solutions that help them succeed.

Visit the ACCESS site for more information about how you can get tutoring, supplemental instruction or join a study group. You don’t have to struggle alone. Take advantage of some of the great programs available to students at NIU.

  • A+ Program - A program that helps with writing and study skills
  • Peer Assisted Learning - A program that provides one-on-one and small group tutoring for those students who are interested in weekly tutoring assistance
  • Supplemental Instruction - A peer tutoring program designed to help students pass historically challenging courses
