Themed Learning Communities
Themed Learning Communities, or TLCs, are programs of study in which students take a few courses together to examine a common theme across disciplines. Course assignments require you to draw upon concepts from your other TLC classes creating an integrated learning experience.
Not only are these classes small in size, usually limited to 25 per class, you receive support through Peer Educators who offer test preparation and study skills, and you also work with faculty on a one-on-one basis. Learning is enhanced with field trips and events that connect what you are learning with authentic experience.
These unique features of the program allow you to engage with your course theme on a more intense level. This level of immersion along with significant individual support also helps you make a more seamless transition into the university experience as a first-time student.
