I love a good story! Each day I have the privilege of listening to stories of students here at NIU and I feel honored to share in a portion of my clients’ lives. I am an avid music listener and concertgoer. When I need time to relax I enjoy grilling, watching English Premier League Soccer, dreaming about my next tattoo or spending time with my awesome siblings and parents (and dog named Cheeto).
I am currently in my fourth year of a clinical psychology, Psy.D. program at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University-Schaumburg. My first year-long training experience was at Elgin Mental Health Center, where I completed diagnostic assessments for inmates determined to be unfit to stand trial. My second practicum experience was at Centegra Health System in Huntley, where I met with adolescent and adult clients for individual therapy in an outpatient setting. My clinical research project (dissertation) is focused on using humor to promote self-care for psychologists early in their careers. Laughing is a very important part of who I am and how I handle stress.
