Life-long Learning Institute - A member-directed group of local retirement-age people who seek new learning experiences.

Lorado Taft Field Campus - Children and adults experience outdoor education in a beautiful, wooded setting on the Rock River in Oregon, Illinois.

Observatory - School groups and interested adults can scan the heavens and witness rare celestial events through the high-powered telescope atop NIU's historic Davis Hall.

Continuing Professional Education - Working adults throughout the region can earn career-enhancing certifications in human resources, facility management, project management and other areas through these award-winning, non-credit programs.

SMARTspace@niu - Offers the very popular Zombie ACT math prep online, an alternative to standard ACT and SAT prep.

STEM Cafes - Brings NIU experts to local restaurants for monthly presentations on a wide variety of topics - a sort of STEMfest for adults (with food and drink!)

Summer Camps - NIU offers over 60 summer day and residential camps in DeKalb and at NIU's Lorado Taft campus, for students in 5th through 12th grades.

Tutoring at Gideon Court Apartments - One-on-one reading help for K-5 students who live in Gideon Court Apartments in DeKalb includes homework help, literacy games and healthy snacks.
