Kerry O. Ferris
Scholarly Interests
I believe that fame is an underexamined system of social power in contemporary society; I work toward a sociology of fame using ethnographic methods and a symbolic interactionist approach. My past studies have included analyses of fan-celebrity relations, celebrity sightings and celebrity stalking. My current project examines the work lives of professional celebrity impersonators.
