Core Microscopy Facility

The Core Microscopy Facility (CMF) assists faculty and student researchers with projects that utilize advanced microscopy equipment and techniques. In addition to housing the Biology Departments specialized research microscopes, the CMF maintains equipment and supplies for preparation of specimens for electron, transmitted light, and confocal microscopic analysis.

The CMF is home to a Zeiss LSM 5 Pascal Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (CLSM) (above) and a Hitachi H-600 Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) (right).

The Core Microscopy Facility uses an online scheduling system, LabAgenda, to reserve instrument time. Please contact the lab manager at to be sent an electronic invite to the LabAgenda reservation system.
