Success Tip

Tracy believes that “support” plays a critical role in assisting online students with the transition to the university, enhancing a sense of community and thereby addressing isolation, increasing retention, and contributing to academic success. To that end, she provides five pillars to ensure that online students are effectively engaged and supported:

  1. Establish a productive learning environment.
  2. Set a schedule for completing and reviewing assignments.
  3. Engage with instructors, classmates, and course material.
  4. Prepare for technical glitches or interruptions.
  5. Utilize academic support services.
