B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering
Are you a problem solver and a critical thinker? Industrial and systems engineers are constantly looking for better solutions to improve the process and production of goods and services. It requires both vision and action. You’ll sharpen your eye for efficiency and discover new innovative ways to improve productivity.
You can choose from three emphases so you can take courses that support your specific goals in industrial and systems engineering. In addition, we offer a minor in sustainable engineering and two undergraduate certificates: Lean Six Sigma and Logistics.
Health Systems Engineering
This emphasis focuses on the skills and strategies needed to develop plans that advance the quality of healthcare facilities. You’ll learn how to optimize facility layout and inventory control to reduce healthcare costs and improve patient care.

As more and more engineering-related systems become implemented in various industries, companies need people in management positions who have a strong working knowledge of the field. In addition to your engineering curriculum, you’ll take various courses in management and business to prepare you for a leadership role.

What hands-on learning opportunities do I have?Undergrads are encouraged to take their classroom knowledge into the real world. All seniors complete a senior design project sponsored by a corporate partner. Projects solve real business challenges experienced by our partners. In addition to internship opportunities, you can participate in programs such as:
