Guest Passes

As a Recreation and Wellness member, you can sponsor a maximum of two guests per day. Guests must be accompanied by a Recreation and Wellness member.

While guest passes can be used at any facility, they can only be purchased at the Student Recreation Center. Guest passes cannot be purchased online. Guests and their sponsor must show a valid photo identification when purchasing a guest pass.

Faculty/staff members, with a valid NIU OneCard, do not need a sponsor to purchase a guest pass.

One-Day Guest Pass: $8

A guest pass is good only for the date in which it was purchased. Guests may leave and re-enter Recreation and Wellness facilities, accompanied by their sponsoring member. Guests cannot sponsor another guest. There are no refunds on guest passes. Guests are eligible to purchase a single class FitPass at the $8 rate plus the guest pass fee.

15 Visit Pass: $60

Visit 15 times within one year from the date of purchase. Non faculty/staff guests must have a sponsor present during each visit.

Conference Passes

Guests attending a conference or workshop at NIU may be eligible to purchase a conference pass at a discounted rate. NIU offices and departments interested in offering conference passes to their attendees should contact the assistant director of facility operations, Chrissy Tluczek at 815-753-9353 or ctluczek@niu.edu to make necessary arrangements.

Hotel Guests - Hotel at Holmes (only)

Hotel guests may purchase a one-day guest pass at the discounted rate of $5. Guests must present photo ID and proof of hotel stay. Hotel guests may purchase guest passes at the Student Recreation Center or hotel front desk. Hotel guests do not need a sponsor.

Where can I park when I come to work out?

The parking lots in front of both the Student Recreation Center and Chick Evans Field House are for persons with blue and yellow parking passes. Except for metered parking, permits are required to park on campus. All Campus Recreation members for the Student Recreation Center, Field House, and Gabel Pool must pick up a parking form at the Student Recreation Center Service Counter, and complete and submit it to Parking Services prior to purchasing a parking pass. There is a parking pass discount for Campus Recreation members.

Metered parking spaces are also available at the Student Recreation Center and are designated by large white signs. Anyone can park in the metered parking spots. Fees for metered spots are $.25 per 15 minutes, for up to two hours. The meter for the designated spots is located to the left of the front doors of the Student Recreation Center.

Parking along Stadium Drive East is for blue, yellow and brown permit parking. Lot K, located south of Stadium Drive, is designated for yellow, brown and orange permit parking.
