Tressman is a proud first-generation student who received an undergraduate degree in insurance and risk management and a master’s in student affairs and higher education from Indiana State University.
"Growing up in rural Indiana, my parents did not have the opportunity to attend college," he says. "I was lucky to have parents that understood and believed in the importance of education."
Tressman likes working at NIU because the institution’s values aligns with his own.
"I enjoy building relationships with prospective students and their families," he says. "And, hopefully, providing them guidance through the admissions and financial aid process."
This Illinois transplant from Bainbridge, Ind., says Huskie pride is something you have to experience yourself.
"Visit. Visit. Visit. If you don’t visit, you won’t know if the college is the right fit for you," he says. "There are endless opportunities available to you at NIU. It is your responsibility to explore and embrace them. Your future is in your hands."
