Any courses registered in MyNIU will appear in Navigate the next day.

If you’re unable to register in Navigate Student Planner on your assigned registration day and time, you can use MyNIU to search for the courses you planned in Navigate and register.

Planner Resources

Study Buddies

The Navigate Study Buddies feature helps you easily connect with students in your classes.

By joining the Study Buddies group for a class, you let other students know you’re interested in studying together. Then, Study Buddies helps you connect with interested classmates through email. Once you’re connected, you can communicate using whatever method you prefer, in person or virtually.

Use Study Buddies to:

  • Form study groups to review material
  • Work on group projects and prepare for presentations
  • Coordinate rides to off-campus class meetings
  • Discuss class notes and content to help one another before tests
  • Reinforce your own learning by assisting fellow students

Success Stories

Juana Ponce

Navigate is easy to use and if I can use it, anybody can. I was able to set up a tutoring and academic coaching session for my psychology class, which was great because I was a little behind in the course.

It’s easy to find information in Navigate. You go in, you press a button, and it gives you everything. Navigate shows all your classes and shows who can help you in each individual class. I don’t have to figure out who can help me with what. Navigate also gives me the opportunity to set up a virtual visit, which is important for me because I live two hours from DeKalb.

Kate Bansa

I had to get help with a biology course. I went to Navigate, saw the tutoring option, then made an appointment. You can make appointments for anything, whether it is the writing center or tutoring, or Career Services to meet a career counselor to help you write a resume or cover letter. Navigate has so many resources.
