Dean, College of Law

As the college's chief administrative officer, the dean is responsible for overseeing the College of Law's instructional, research and scholarly activities. They also oversee its outreach, engagement and public-service efforts. The dean represents the college to internal and external stakeholders, and collaborates with faculty and the college's advisory groups. This full-time, 12-month position is classified as supportive professional staff with faculty rank, if appropriate. The dean reports to the provost.

Dean, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

The dean is the intellectual and administrative leader of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Reporting to the provost, the dean advocates for the mission and purpose of liberal arts education, both internally and within the state of Illinois. They work to define NIU and set it apart from other institutions in the region. The dean has a clear vision for the college and implements it within the framework of the university's goals and mission.
